Events associated with the controls of a report
The events associated with the controls of a report are as follows: | | | Event | Runtime condition |

| Initializing | Run when initializing the report. When starting a report (including during a test), the events are run in the following order:- "Opening" event of the report.
- "Initializing" event of report blocks.
- "Initializing" event of the controls.
| | Before printing | Run before printing a control. | | Entry in | Run when the input cursor enters in the control. This event is only available for edit controls used in the report viewer. | | Exit from | Run when moving from one control to another (TAB key, selecting another control with the mouse, etc.). This event is only available for edit controls used in the report viewer. | | Modification of | Run whenever the content of the control is modified (typing or erasing a character for example). This event is only available for edit controls used in the report viewer. | | Click | Run when clicking the control. The click on the control is available in the report viewer only. A star allows the user to easily identify the clickable controls. |

Opening and/or modifying the events of a control To open and/or modify the events of a control, use one of the following methods: - select the control and press F2.
- select the control and display the "Context-sensitive code view" tab.
- select "Code" from the popup menu of the control (right mouse click on the control).
- click the "Code" icon of control description.
