Remarks The International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) is a number that uniquely identifies each GSM or UMTS mobile devices. This number allows the phone operator to identify the calling mobile device so it can be authorized (or not) to connect. It is used to connect emergency calls without SIM. This number is also useful to ask operators to block a stolen mobile phone. Devices that do not have a SIM card slot do not have an IMEI number (most tablets).
