Overview
Do you have an active Internet connection on your development computer? You can automatically download the different editor updates (WINDEV, WEBDEV and WINDEV Mobile) thanks to "Automatic update".
This mechanism studies your computer to find the PC SOFT products to upgrade and provides a list of available upgrades according to your configuration. This allows you to always use the most recent version of the PC SOFT products.
No personal information is sent to the server.
This mechanism is optional, it can be disabled at any time. You still have the ability to visit the PC SOFT Web site and to manually download the upgrades available for your PC SOFT products.
Start Automatic Update
To start Automatic Update:
  1. Start WINDEV, WEBDEV or WINDEV Mobile.
  2. On the "Inicio" tab, in the "Ayuda en línea" group, expand "Information on the Web" and select "Update XXX" (XXX corresponds to the product being used).
  3. The interface of "Automatic update" appears.
    Automatic Update
Note: Depending on the configuration of the "Automatic update" application, it may be possible to launch this application when the Windows session is started.
How to?

Configure the products to be taken into account

When Automatic Update starts for the first time, it searches for the different products used on the current computer.
It may not find PC SOFT products, or detect products that are not suitable for you.
To add a product:
  1. In the Automatic Update title bar, click Parameters.
  2. In the menu that appears, select "Add a product to Automatic Update".
    Context menu
  3. In the file explorer, select the executable of the desired product and validate.
  4. The desired product is automatically displayed in Automatic Update. You can immediately search for updates for this product.
To "ignore" a product:
  1. Once in Automatic Update, expand the context menu of the "Start" button of the product to be ignored.
    Context menu
  2. You can:
    • Select the "No longer update" option: in this case, a lock appears in the product characteristics, indicating that updates will no longer be automatically checked for this product. Updates can be checked manually.
    • Select the "Hide from Automatic Update" option: in this case, the product will no longer be displayed in the "Automatic Update" application.
    Caution:
    • If the options "Do not update anymore" and "Hide from Automatic Update" are enabled, the product will no longer appear in Automatic Update, and no automatic update search will be performed.
    • If only "Hide from Automatic Update" is used, the product will no longer appear in Automatic Update. No automatic update search will be performed as long as the product is hidden.
Note: Hidden products can be displayed at any time via the "Show hidden products" option in the menu displayed via the Parameters icon.

Automatic search for updates

When Automatic Update starts, it automatically checks for available updates for products that are visible and unlocked.
If an update is available, a notification automatically appears under the application's title bar. A click on the "Display" link allows you to know the product affected by this update.

Manual search for updates

Automatic Update also allows you to manually search for updates:
  • For all listed products:
    1. In the Automatic Update title bar, click Parameters.
    2. In the menu that appears, select "Check for updates".
      Search for updates
  • for a specific product:
    1. Once in Automatic Update, expand the context menu of the "Start" button of the product to be ignored.
      Context menu
    2. Select "Check for updates".
    3. The update search is performed.

Install an update

When an update is available:
  • a notification is displayed at the top of the application.
  • the "Start" button on the row of the corresponding product changes to "Update" or "Download" (depending on the choice made in the parameters). For more details, see Configuring Automatic Update.
By clicking:
  • on the "Download" button, the download starts.
  • on the "Update" button, the application update is installed.
