Overview
In a flexible modeling, the "Application", "Process" and "Choice" elements can be used to enter in a "sub-modeling".
For example, the description of the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) of a company may include the following sub-models: Management of customers, management of estimates, marketing, production, accounting, ...
The symbol is used to find out whether a sub-modeling can be created (the icon is grayed) or whether a sub-modeling is available.

To create a sub-modeling from an element:
  1. Select the element that must be linked to a sub-modeling (Application, Process or Choice).
  2. Select "Add a sub-modeling" from the popup menu of the element.
  3. The sub-modeling is created and it is automatically opened in the editor.

  2. Select "Select an existing sub-modeling" from the popup menu of the element.
  3. Select the requested sub-modeling. This sub-modeling can belong to the current modeling or to another modeling.
  4. Validate.
  5. The element appears with the symbol.

Entering into a sub-modeling

To enter into the sub-modeling of an element:
  1. Select the desired element.
  2. Select "Enter into the sub-modeling" from the popup menu of the element.

Remark: if the element is linked to an existing sub-modeling, you have the ability to display this sub-modeling:

  2. Select "Follow the link to the sub-modeling" from the popup menu of the element.
  3. The sub-modeling is automatically displayed.
A sub-modeling can have several several "parent" models.

Going back to the previous level of modeling

To go back to the previous level, you can use:
  • the title bar of the sub-modeling. The different models are represented in the following format: "Modeling1> Sub-Modeling2>Sub-Modeling3". A click performed on the requested modeling is used to display it.
  • the different panes on the left of the editor. Each pane corresponds to a modeling or to a sub-modeling. A click performed on the requested modeling is used to display it.
  • "Back to parent" from the popup menu of the sub-modeling.

Deleting a sub-modeling

To delete a sub-modeling:
  1. Select the desired element.
