The different editors of WINDEV, WEBDEV and WINDEV Mobile allow you to align the elements via a snap-on grid. The snap-on grid simplifies the positioning and alignment of controls in a window, page, report, query, UML diagram, etc. The size of the grid is expressed in pixels (or in centimeters in the report editor). When the grid is enabled, it can be temporarily disabled by holding down the Shift key while moving. Similarly, when the grid is disabled, it can be temporarily enabled with the Shift key.
Recommended options for the grid: - Invisible grid.
- Grid enabled.
- Vertical spacing of the grid: 12 pixels.
- Horizontal spacing of the grid: 12 pixels.
If the spacing of the grid is set to 1, the grid will not be visible. Window editor or page editor To display the grid in the window page editor, on the "Display" tab, in the "Editing help" group, check "Grid". To configure the characteristics of the grid (spacing, magnetism): - On the "Display" tab, click the dialog box launcher of the "Options" group (
 ). - In the window that appears, click the " Snapping" tab.
Remark: To display the grid above the window controls, check "Above" in the magnetism options. Data model editor To display the grid in the data model editor, on the "Display" tab, in the "Help for edit" group, check "Grid". UML editor To display the grid in the UML editor, on the "XXX diagram" tab, in the "Display" group, check "Grid visible". To use the snap-on mechanism of the grid, on the "XXX diagram" tab, in the "Display" group, check "Grid enabled". Query editor To display the grid in the query editor, on the "Display" tab, in the "Help for edit" group, check "Grid". Report editor To display the grid in the report editor, on the "Display" tab, in the "Editing help" group, check "Grid". To configure the characteristics of the grid (spacing, magnetism): - On the "Display" tab, click the dialog box launcher of the "Options" group ().
- In the window that is displayed, click the "Magnetism" tab.
